Bruno Mičetić is a Croatian guitarist, composer, and music educator who has established himself as one of the leading figures of the Croatian jazz scene. His passion for music emerged at an early age, leading him to enroll in music school when he was just eight years old. In 2001, he performed at the Young Jazz Talents Festival at Zagreb's Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall, marking one of his first significant public appearances. During his formative years, he further developed his skills by attending internationally recognized workshops, including Umbria Jazz – Berklee School, Jazz Is Back in Grožnjan, and Jazz Kamp Kranj, where he studied for three consecutive years.
In 2004, Mičetić enrolled at the Jazz Department of the Klagenfurt Conservatory in Austria, where he spent the next five years refining his musicianship. While studying, he founded the Seaside Quartet, performing at festivals such as Jazz Tulum, Liburnia Jazz Festival, the Croatian Jazz Assembly at B. P. Club, and Summer at Gradina, gaining valuable experience as both a performer and bandleader.
Following graduation, he began teaching at the People's Open University in Rijeka while establishing his own music school, Rijeka Guitar Center. Alongside his educational work, he collaborated with acclaimed musicians including Primož Grašič, Ratko Divjak, and Joe Kaplowitz, performing at numerous jazz festivals throughout Croatia. At the same time, he pursued a parallel rock career as guitarist and principal songwriter of the band Keops, releasing the albums Keops and Lice sudbine.
In 2013, together with Ratko Divjak and Joe Kaplowitz, Mičetić released his first jazz studio album featuring classic jazz standards. The album received excellent reviews from both critics and audiences and led to performances at major Croatian jazz festivals. He later collaborated extensively with the Milan Petrović Jazz Quartet, appearing at festivals across Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, and Serbia, including the prestigious Nišville Jazz Festival. During the same period, the Bruno Mičetić Trio toured successfully and performed as the opening act for internationally renowned guitarist Dominic Miller.
Among his most notable projects is the Mičetić–Ružić collaboration, which resulted in the album Fat Manager. He continued expanding his discography with Beauty Of Your Soul, Beauty Of Your Soul – Live at Lisinski, Capturing the Moment, and Out of the Shadow. Mičetić is also the founder of the Rab Jazz Festival and has been a member of the Croatian Freelance Artists' Association since 2019. In 2021, he launched the project Melodies of Croatia's National Parks, supported by the Croatian Ministry of Culture, while continuing to develop new artistic projects through his quintet, trio, and solo guitar performances, further strengthening his reputation as one of Croatia's most active contemporary jazz musicians.
