Boris Štok was born on March 18, 1978, in Rijeka, Croatia. He studied Management at the University of Rijeka and began his musical career as co-founder and lead vocalist of the rock band Quasarr, with whom he released three albums in the 2000s and gained regional recognition.
As a solo artist, Štok emerged in 2017 with his debut EP Puls, earning a nomination for Croatia’s Porin award in the New Artist category. That same year, he released his debut single, marking the start of his solo journey. In 2018, he released his first full-length album Ispod kože, winning the Porin Award for Best Alternative Album.
In November 2020, he followed with his second album Uvijek dio mene, which featured radio hits such as “Predajem se tebi,” “Reci mi,” and “Još uvijek.” His third studio album, titled 3, was released in November 2022 and produced singles including “Netko poput nas,” “Jesmo li jedini,” and “Još jednom.” Štok competed in Croatia’s national Eurovision selection (Dora) in 2023 with the song “Grijeh” and returned in 2024 with “Can We Talk.”
In addition to his solo work, he has collaborated with numerous prominent Croatian artists including Josipa Lisac, Matija Dedić, Ante Gelo, Elvis Stanić, Jadranka Ivaniš Yaya, and Meritas. From 2008 to 2016, he was also part of the project Manofon.
Štok’s music blends introspective lyrics with sophisticated pop, electro, and art rock sensibilities, delivered through his elegant vocal style. He performs extensively across the region, with notable appearances including sold‑out shows at Pogon kulture in Rijeka and major concerts in Zagreb, affirming his standing as one of Croatia’s most respected contemporary artists.
