Black Veil Brides is an American rock band from Cincinnati formed in 2006 by vocalist Andy Biersack. Their sound blends hard rock, gothic metal, glam aesthetics, and post-hardcore influences. Starting with EPs and demos, they released their debut album We Stitch These Wounds in 2010, featuring the breakout hit “Knives and Pens,” which accumulated hundreds of millions of views on YouTube. Subsequent releases include Set the World on Fire (2011), Wretched and Divine (2013), the self-titled Black Veil Brides (2014), Vale (2018), the re-recorded Re‑Stitch These Wounds (2020), The Phantom Tomorrow (2021), and the EP The Mourning (2022).
Their live shows are renowned for theatrical visuals—glam makeup, pyrotechnics, and dramatic staging are hallmarks of their performances. The band’s lyrics often speak to outsiders and underdogs, promoting self-confidence and nonconformity.
The current lineup features Andy Biersack (vocals), Jake Pitts (lead guitar), Jinxx (rhythm guitar/violin), Lonny Eagleton (bass), and Christian “CC” Coma (drums). Signed to labels like Lava and Sumerian, the band regularly headlines major tours and festivals. Known for their intense energy, visual style, and empowering messages, Black Veil Brides remain a defining force in modern rock.
