Siddharta is a Slovenian rock band formed in 1995 in Ljubljana. The band’s name was inspired by the novel Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse. The founding members included Tomi Meglič, Primož Benko, Primož Majerič, and Boštjan Meglič. They quickly gained recognition for their energetic performances and a unique sound that blends rock, metal, and electronic elements.
Their debut album Id, released in 1999, brought them widespread popularity. They continued their success with albums such as Nord (2001), Rh- (2003), Petrolea (2006), and Nomadi (2018). Siddharta’s music is characterized by powerful guitar riffs, melodic choruses, and introspective lyrics, which have established them as one of the most important bands in Slovenia and the surrounding region.
Over the years, Siddharta has won numerous music awards, and their energetic live performances have become a hallmark of their identity. Although the lineup has changed over time, Tomi Meglič and Primož Benko have remained central members of the group.
