Jacques Houdek, born Željko Houdek on April 14, 1981, in Velika Gorica, Croatia, is a singer known for his powerful voice and versatile musical style including pop, soul, gospel, jazz, swing, and blues. He began his professional career in 2000 and gained wider recognition with the song "Čarolija" at Croatia’s national Eurovision selection in 2002.
He gained international recognition representing Croatia at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv with the song "My Friend," which finished 13th in the final. The song was unique for featuring singing in both English and Italian, showcasing his technical and vocal versatility.
Besides his solo career, Houdek is known as a mentor on the Croatian version of the music show "The Voice," where he mentored the winner Nina Kraljić in 2015. Throughout his career, he has won several important music awards, including four Porins.
He is the author of many of his own hits and a member of the Croatian Composers' Society. His concerts throughout Croatia and the region attract large audiences, and his stage presence and voice make him one of the most prominent Croatian musicians.
