Ice Nine Kills are an American metalcore band from Boston, Massachusetts, formed in 2000 under the name Ice Nine. The group was founded by high school friends Spencer Charnas and Jeremy Schwartz, adopting the name Ice Nine Kills shortly before the release of their debut album. Today, Charnas remains the only original member and the creative force behind the band's evolving artistic vision. Over the years, Ice Nine Kills have established themselves as one of the most distinctive acts in contemporary heavy music through their unique blend of aggressive sound and horror-inspired storytelling.
The band's earliest material incorporated influences from ska punk, pop punk, and alternative rock. Its sequel, The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood, released in 2021, expanded the horror narrative even further and achieved an even stronger chart performance.
