Darko Lazić is a Serbian pop-folk and turbo-folk singer born on October 12, 1991, in the village of Brestač, Vojvodina. Over a career spanning more than fifteen years, he has established himself as one of the best-known performers on the Balkan pop-folk scene, recognized for his powerful voice, emotional performances, and a catalogue of hit songs that have made him a household name throughout the region. He first rose to national prominence after winning the fourth season of the television singing competition Zvezde Granda in 2009, a victory that launched his professional music career.
Following his success on the competition, Lazić signed with Grand Production and released his debut album, Brate moj, later that same year. The album introduced audiences to songs such as “Korak do sna,” “Idi drugome,” and “Pismo,” helping him build a loyal fan base across Serbia and the countries of the former Yugoslavia. In 2011, he released his second studio album, Godinu dana 300 kafana, whose title track became one of the defining songs of his career and further strengthened his position within the regional music industry.
Throughout the following years, Lazić continued to release successful singles including “Majko,” “Korak do sna,” “Idi drugome,” “Godinu dana 300 kafana,” and “Pismo.” His musical style combines elements of traditional Balkan folk music with contemporary pop-folk production, allowing him to appeal to audiences across multiple generations. He regularly performs throughout Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, and for Balkan communities across Europe.
In addition to his musical achievements, Lazić has frequently attracted media attention because of his personal life. He was married to singer Ana Sević, with whom he has a daughter, and later welcomed a son from another relationship. In 2024, he and his wife Katarina welcomed their first child together. Lazić has also spoken publicly about personal struggles, including addiction, and underwent a lengthy recovery after surviving a serious traffic accident in 2018.
Today, Darko Lazić remains one of the leading names in contemporary Balkan pop-folk music. Through continued touring, new releases, and a devoted fan base, he has maintained a strong presence on the regional music scene while continuing to be one of its most recognizable performers.
