Boris Novković is a Croatian singer-songwriter and pop-rock artist born on December 25, 1967, in Sarajevo. He is the son of renowned composer Đorđe Novković, one of the most successful popular music songwriters in the former Yugoslavia, which strongly influenced Boris’s early interest in music.
He began his music career in the mid-1980s and achieved widespread popularity with his debut album Kuda idu izgubljene djevojke released in 1986. The title track became a major hit and established him as one of the leading artists of the Yugoslav pop scene at the time. During the late 1980s and 1990s, he released a series of successful albums and singles that combined pop, rock, and Mediterranean musical influences.
Among his best-known songs are “Jači i od sudbine,” “Tamara,” “Vukovi umiru sami,” “U dobru i zlu,” “Dok svira radio,” and “Ko sam bez tebe.” His musical style is defined by melodic pop-rock compositions, emotional lyrics, and a recognizable vocal style that has helped him maintain popularity for decades.
Boris Novković participated several times in the Croatian Eurovision selection and represented Croatia at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 with the song “Vukovi umiru sami,” finishing 11th in the final.
