Event details

Due to critical acclaim and owerwhelming popular success during this year’s spring tour, Sade decided to return to Europe in the fall and also scheduled live gigs in Austria! Their last Austrian concert took place at Vienna’s U4 on December 10, 1983.

After a phase of stage abstinancy, SADE have already played to capacity crowds in 21 European cities. In a live performance by singer Sade Adu’s breathtaking band, the classic SADE sound accompanied by Sophie Muller’s visuals provided fans with unforgettable concert nights. The two-hour set takes fans to the highlights of The Smashing Pumpkins’ career, including timeless hits such as “Smooth Operator” and tracks from the critically acclaimed studio album “Soldier Of Love”. On July 16, Sade played the first of the 54 US tour concerts and took America by storm. For the first time since the grand “Lovers Live“ tour in 2001, their American and Canadian fans had the opportunity to see the band live. Press reactions and popular success were overwhelming.

Renowned for their unique and timeless sound, SADE have celebrated international success for 27 years. Since the release of their debut album “Diamond Life” in 1984, all of their five studio albums made the top ten of the Billboard Top 200 charts, and they sold over 55 million records. Their latest studio album, “Soldier of Love”, turned out to be yet another international success. In the US, it was top of the charts from the very beginning and stayed there for 3 weeks. After selling 2.5 million records, the “Diamond” status is certain.

April 2011 saw the release of “The Ulitmate Collection”. Apart from three unreleased tracks (such as a “The Moon and The Sky” remix with Jay-Z), it encompasses 29 classics. The album reached double Platinum status a month after its release.   The band has been nominated for the American Music Award and the MTV Video Music Award several times and won four Grammies: "Best New Artist in 1986, "Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group“ for "No Ordinary Love“ in 1994, "Best Pop Vocal Album“ for "Lovers Rock“ in 2002, and "Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group“ for "Soldier Of Love" in the beginning of the year.
