Artist description

The band Belfast Food was created in 1996, but its beginnings reach into the early nineties when the trio from the music high school in Rijeka – Marko Anić, Hrvoje Hodak and Sebastian Mavrić – met to enjoy the sounds of Ireland, and they liked these sounds so much that they started to play and perform them in various places in and around the city of Rijeka.

The first CD came out in September 1997 under the title “Live in Rijeka”. The next album “Zašto Zato” came in 1999, and both of them were released by the Kondorcomm record label from Zagreb. In 2003, Dallas Records release their third album “Melodije Irske i Kvarnera”.

Belfast Food are known as a good-quality band, as well as in their music performance, as in their capacity to provide fun. From its very beginning, the band based its music on the mixture of traditional Irish sound with a strong base, and now they started to experiment with electronics to enrich their style.

In 2002, Hrvoje Hodak left the band so Belfast Food continued to play as five, and since 2004, Marko Jurić replaced Bobo Grujičić on drums. The band still continues to play, performing in the whole of Croatia, and increasingly more in Slovenia, with plans for a territorial concert expansion.

They insist on their own works, which fuses their experience in Irish music with their musical tendencies that lead into other musical styles. What they guarantee is a great concert and even more fun.
