In the course of this year’s "Pandemonium“ world tour, early December will finally bring a Pet Shop Boys concert to Austria! Famous for their extravagant live multimedia shows and upbeat selection of old and new hits, Great Britain’s most successful pop duo attracts an ever-growing following of fans.
For their tenth studio album, Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe collaborated with the producer team Xenomania (Girls Aloud, Sugababes, etc.). “Yes” turned out to be one of the best albums of their career – a career that began as early as 25 years ago. “West End Girls”, the first released single (1985) turned into a huge success. They have written almost forty UK top 20 hits and over a dozen studio albums (including compilations and the sound track of last year’s cult silent movie “The Battleship Potemkin”).
The Pet Shop Boys have created an artistic Gesamtkunstwerk shaped by unconventionally conceptual ideas, and an impressive sense of style and a unique design. No matter whether they render homage to Elvis Presley (“Always On My Mind”), pose on Russia’s Red Square (“Go West”) or flirt with Brazilian sounds (“Se A Vida E”) – their innovative aspirations are always present. Collaborations with stars like Liza Minnelli and Dusty Springfield, Blur and Bowie, with film and theater producers, artists and architects keep bringing a breath of fresh air and kept the Pet Shop Boys interesting and permanently relevant.
