In May, Steve Patrick Morrissey, the former Smiths singer, will be celebrating his 50th birthday. “Years Of Refusal,” his ninth solo album, has just been released and mirrors Morrissey’s affinity for self-mockery and theatrics. At the same time, “Years Of Refusal” is a rock album, picking up where he left off with “You Are The Quarry” in 2003. The master himself considers his new album to be the best he has ever written – and his fans are equally fond of “Years Of Refusal”: the album went straight up to #4 of the German charts, making it Morrissey’s most successful German release. The British are fond of the new album as well – “Years Of Refusal” has reached #3 in the British charts.
Armed with the new CD, the “Mozzer” will be visiting Vienna during his world tour on July 11!
The official statement:
"Morrissey has announced a concert at Vienna Gasometer on Saturday 11th July 2009 as a part of an extensive European tour in support of his new album “Years Of Refusal”. With this new tour, also Viennese Morrissey fans will be very happy, to have this fantastic artist on stage again, not only in their hearts."
