Kraftklub is a German band from Chemnitz, formed in late 2009, known for its energetic fusion of indie rock, rap, and punk. The group consists of five members: Felix Brummer (vocals/rap), Karl Schumann (guitar, vocals), Steffen Israel (guitar), Till Brummer (bass), and Max Marschk (drums).
The band originated when rapper Felix Brummer performed with the rock band Neon Blocks at the Splash Festival in 2009. Following this collaboration, they officially formed Kraftklub and began working on their debut material. In 2010, they won the New Music Award, which attracted major label attention and led to a contract with Universal.
Kraftklub’s sound is defined by a distinctive blend of guitar-driven rock and rap vocals, often addressing social and generational themes. This genre-crossing approach has made them one of the most recognizable acts in the German alternative music scene.
Their debut album Mit K (2012) marked their breakthrough, while the follow-up In Schwarz (2014) reached number one on the German charts and solidified their success. The album Keine Nacht für Niemand (2017) continued their momentum, and Kargo (2022) showcased further artistic development.
Known for their high-energy live performances, Kraftklub has toured extensively and performed at major festivals across Europe. Their lyrics often reflect contemporary social issues and everyday life, resonating strongly with younger audiences.
With ongoing releases and active touring, Kraftklub remains a key force in modern German music, recognized for its originality and genre-blending sound.
