With over 60,000 revellers expected to descend upon Croatia for the debut annual summer event, ULTRA EUROPE will take place at the beautiful Poljud Stadium in SPLIT for days 1 & 2, while the 3rd and final day will see the event hop to the Hotel Amfora Grand Beach Resort on the stunning island of HVAR – just a short ferry journey away. Performances from all 3 days will be streamed globally through Ultra TV and Ultra Radio.

Besides being the only European edition of the world-renowned Ultra Festival next year, ULTRA EUROPE will also be one of the first major events of its kind in Croatia following the country’s expected entrance into the European Union on 1st of July 2013.

“Electronic music is one of the most popular and fastest growing musical genres in the world, and the Ultra Music Festival has been recognized as one of the leading festivals of that genre. Taking into consideration the developed scene in Croatia and the excellent reputation of Split and Hvar as top tourist destinations recognized in Europe and around the world, the decision to organize Ultra Europe in Croatia was easy to make. We strongly believe that electronic music fans are aware of what Ultra Music Festival represents and will come in great numbers to Split and Hvar this July.”, stated Russell Faibisch – CEO of Ultra Enterprises.

Joe Basic, director of Adria MM Production – the Croatian partner and co-organiser of the festival – added:

“Ultra Europe Festival is undoubtedly one of the most important music events in 2013, not only in Croatia but in Europe. That is why we are very proud that we as local partners can give our support and host such a reputable event in Split and Hvar. There is no question that Ultra Music Festival will be an attraction in the historical and beautiful cities of Split and Hvar.  The beautiful Adriatic Sea and Islands of the area will be a perfect setting for Ultra Music Festival and will attract many to come and experience all that Ultra and Croatia have to offer”.

As the worlds most famous outdoor electronic music festival, ULTRA has won “Best Music Event” by the International Dance Music Awards (IDMA) six consecutive years, from 2005 to 2011, “Best International Dance Music Festival” by the Ibiza DJ Awards in 2008 and “Best Festival” by the Village Voice Media New Times consecutively five years running from 2005 through 2009. Originally created as a pure EDM (electronic dance music) festival in 1999, ULTRA has grown through the years to present not only the genreʼs hottest, biggest and best headline artists (The Prodigy, Swedish House Mafia, The Chemical Brothers, Tiësto, David Guetta, deadmau5, Underworld, Kraftwerk, Armin van Buuren, Moby, Fatboy Slim, Justice, Carl Cox and Avicii to name a few), but also crossover headline bands that incorporate EDM elements in their music and have a history or new beginning in the EDM community and culture (The Cure, The Killers, New Order, Duran Duran, The Black Eyed Peas, Erasure, M83, Santigold, The Ting Tings, Cut Copy, Empire of the Sun and Bloc Party). In 2012, global pop icon Madonna appeared as a special surprise guest—the festivals gift to their fans—to introduce the main stage final headlining artist AVICII, joining him behind the decks to premiere his UMF remix of her new single “Girl Gone Wild.” Together with its signature, cutting-edge productions, ULTRA is unrivaled by consistently presenting the worlds’ greatest, most diverse EDM line-ups year after year.

Zagreb, January 23rd 2013. – World class DJ's Afrojack and Hardwell will perform this summer at one of the biggest festivals of electronic music in Europe, Ultra Europe. These two stars will join the previously confirmed group of artists consisting of AVICII, Armin van Buuren and Carl Cox. Furthermore, fans at Poljud stadium will get to enjoy the best of electronic music not on two stages but on three. The organizers are announcing that they will reveal at least four new artists each month until the beginning of the festival, with final Ultra Europe line up consisting of more then 30 artists and acts satisfying all electronic music preferences.

It's enough to take one look at their biographies to confirm that these artists are among the top names of electronic dance music. Award winning DJ and producer Hardwell is ranked sixth in DJ Mag top 100 DJ's list with his hit remix of Rihanna’s hit Where Have You Been and single Chasing the Sun by Wanted which topped many charts including Billboards Dance chart. The ninth DJ in the world, Afrojack, owner of two Grammys and many hit singles that move fans of electronic music all around the world, which include Can't Stop Me and Rock The House which has took top position of the Beatport chart after only three days, gaining the number one position in record time. He is recognized for collaborations with David Guetta, Beyonce and Pitbull featuring Ne-Yo for single Give Me Everything.

'Playing Ultra for the first time many years ago was a big highlight in my career and has been every year since, so I'm very much looking forward to playing their first ever Ultra Europe event in Croatia this year. I can't wait to see what they've got in store, because if Miami's anything to go by, I know it will be amazing' - stated Afrojack upon his confirmation of participation at Ultra Europe.

The interest for the festival has been confirmed from all over the world, with 15000 tickets already sold in the first phase, and 75% of tickets being sold to foreign guests, confirming previous claims by the organizer that the festival is not only a national but regional and global event of the summer. Unprecedented production of the Ultra Europe festival with the surroundings of the Adriatic Sea and the popular tourist centres of Split and Hvar are a guarantee for one of a kind experience for all electronic music festival-goers.

Unlike in the beginnings, when it was popular among the alternative and underground crowd and was only played in selected clubs, electronic music today is a part of the mainstream, a cultural phenomenon that has spread its influence to other musical genres. This is supported by the fact that more and more musicians use electronic and dance music elements in their songs to attract a wider audience.

Joe Bašić of Adria MM production, promoter and organizer of Ultra Europe in Croatia, has also commented on the growing popularity of the electronic music in Croatia: „Billboards TOP 40 chart is compromised of 25% of electronic music singles, while the other 25% are singles influenced by it. Therefore, it is clear that half of the chart belongs to electronic music genre. Trends, especially at the European level, justify expectations of aN increase of this ratio to 100% by 2015 in favour of electronic music.“ He has also stated that current ticket sales results support this claim and that from today the price of general admission tickets for both days in Split will be 60,00 EUR, VIP tickets will cost 100 EUR (single day admission), while tickets for third day of Ultra Europe festival, the exclusive party in Hvar, will be on sale from February 15th, when the first DJ's for that day will also be announced.

In order to help with accommodation and travel, especially the foreign visitors, and to additionally inform the fans with details about Croatia, Split and Hvar, organizers have setup a web site Travel to Ultra (http://www.travel2ultra.com). Visitors can find basic information on travel connections, festival stages, transport options to the festival and information regarding the Split-Dalmatia county and Croatia. Additionally, visitors can directly place reservations for the festivals official hotels (in Split, Trogir and Hvar) and even buy a complete package that includes accommodation, transport and tickets for Ultra Europe.

All information and announcements can be found at http://ultraeurope.com/ and official <Facebook page> of the festival, while tickets can be bought at internet page http://ultraeurope.com/ and Eventim network.
