The most famous art colony in the world, Cirque du Soleil will be in Zagreb for four days, from 18th to 21st of November, to appeale to your imagination, to provoke your senses and awaken those most hidden emotions. For the first time in Croatia, Cirque du Solei is coming with the play Saltimbanco, one of the many performances that delight audiences around the world. Saltimbanco is a name derived from the Italian phrase 'saltare in banco "which means' jump on the bench. The play explores the experience of urban life in myriad forms: the people in urban areas from, their differences and similarities, family and subculture, a flurry of street and height of skyscrapers. Saltimbanco is a typical Cirque du Soleil show inspired by the urban tissue, the metropolis and its colorful inhabitants. Decidedly baroque in its visual vocabulary, the show you through an eclectic range of leading figures in the world of dreams, unreal and imaginary city where diversity is a cause of hope. World premiere of Saltimbanco was held in Montreal in 1992 with 36 top acrobats. During 14 years of work under a circus tent, the show has visited 75 countries on five continents and delighted more than 9 million people worldwide. Today there are over 50 performers from 20 different countries. Artists who are part of a daily pass plays of artistic training, agility and coordination, to carry hand-made costumes that fit them better than their own skin. Each performance carries a social message, asks questions and gives solutions in their own unusual, 'weird' way. Three years ago, in 2007, the shows are reconfigured for a new venue - the big Arenas. Saltimbanco tour will again perform in over 40 cities and also in Zagreb and will send a message that the play is just as fantastic today as it was 14 years ago when it was created. With an excellent band and the amazing voice of the singer, who soundtracks at all counts, the show will throw you on your knees and put the skeptics and those hardest to convince, that anything is possible. The 9 acrobats will show tremendous strength, flexibility, balance and inner peace. So we will see a double trapeze, pyramid made by people, an incredible reluctance of gravity on the Chinese poles, superhuman strength, and much more. The tour, which carries over 180 tons of equipment, along brings 80 technicians who care for equipment and the safety of themselves and the acrobats. Considering that this are a very dangerous performances, the show technically has to be performed flawlessly.
