Ivan Zak was born on April 26, 1979, in Zagreb, Croatia. His passion for music began very early — learning guitar at age six and forming his first band at fourteen. He first gained broader attention through performances at music festivals and competitions, but his career-defining moment came in 2010 with the duet “Tetovaža” featuring Neda Ukraden.
His breakthrough arrived in 2012 with the self-written album Bolja od najbolje, earning him a Gold Record and landing him the debut award at the Split Festival with “Zbogom pameti.” That year he also sold out Zagreb’s Dom sportova in his first solo concert. Hits like “Naučila si me,” “Tko mi te krade,” and “Ilegala” cemented his place in regional pop music.
He continued to expand his reach with collaborations — his song “Kilometri ljubavi” with Boban Rajović trended on YouTube in Croatia. In 2024, tracks like “Tajne naše” and the duet “Kad srce stane” (with Dragana Mirković) further reinforced his presence in the pop scene.
Zak writes both music and lyrics for his work and is recognized for his entrepreneurial approach. He previously ran discotheques, clubs, and even a wedding venue, which helped him maintain full control of his artistic direction and financial independence.
He regularly performs across Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia, and beyond, often drawing huge crowds in venues and clubs. Known for his warm relationship with fans, he often meets the audience personally and shares autographs. Musically, Zak blends pop with Dalmatian and pop-folk influences, delivering emotionally charged lyrics through powerful, energetic performances.
